The Story

Sex Toy In The Microwave — known by their initials STIM — formed when Australian vocalist Rowan Quigley connected with three Estonian musicians at a festival in Tallinn in 2023. What started as a late-night jam became the band that critics are calling "the most uncomfortably honest rock act of the decade."

Drawing from post-punk, noise rock, and raw electronic textures, STIM makes music about emotional depletion, modern disconnection, and the quiet devastation of being perpetually overextended. Their debut album AS A MAN was recorded across Melbourne and Tallinn over a gruelling six months.

The title track and closer, "I Believe This is Goodbye," has been called a modern farewell anthem. It is, somehow, also a love song.
